The Australian Koala Foundation (AKF) is the principal non-profit, non-government organisation dedicated to the conservation and effective management of the wild koala and its habitat.
Improve the usability of its website. My aim was to highlight their work and to clarify the main ways of donation, making them more engaging.
In order to empathize with the user to design a great experience for him, I made a user research composed by usability tests, a click test, a survey and interviews.
· There's too many things screaming for attention on the homepage, which confuses the user.
· The donation options are not clear.
· The navigation is confusing (all pages look almost the same).
· The overall experience looks distant and unsafe.
"Plant a tree" donation
I decided to redesign the complete "plant a tree" donation path, for being the most interesting for the user and also the most confusing at the first time you land on the homepage.
Two types of user has been researched in this flow: The sensitive people willing to help and people who don't believe in the cause but they feel attraction for this kind of donation.
Highlight the tenderness awakened by koalas during all the navigation.
